Cycle Technologies Joins Researchers from Georgetown’s Institute for Reproductive Health (IRH) to Answer Questions About the Dot Fertility & Period Tracker App Study.
Members of the press were recently invited to a live briefing via teleconference hosted by the Institute for Reproductive Health at Georgetown University (IRH) to discuss the Dot contraceptive efficacy study. Dr. Victoria Jennings and Dr. Rebecca Simmons, the lead researchers for the Dot efficacy study at IRH, and Leslie Heyer, founder of Cycle Technologies, the company that developed the Dot app, gave an overview of the year-long Dot efficacy trial which launched earlier this week.
"Dot users have a historical opportunity to advance the science of birth control and family planning," said Leslie Heyer, president and founder of Cycle Technologies. "No fertility app has undergone such rigorous testing. Users who join our effort can help make free, effective fertility tools accessible to women throughout the world." + READ MORE
In this short recording, participants discuss why the first ever, real world efficacy of a fertility app to prevent pregnancy is significant, and how Dot app users can help advance the science of birth control and family planning for women everywhere.
Moderated by IRH's Sophie Savage, the complete full length recording is available to those who participated in the Q & A or who previously RSVP'd to the teleconference invitation. The Dot app is based on a patent-pending birth control method called Dynamic Optimal Timing™ (DOT). Developed in collaboration with global health experts, this advanced technology calculates an individual’s personalized daily risk or chance of pregnancy simply by tracking their period start dates. Delivered through a smartphone app, Dot gives women actionable information that empowers them to effectively plan - or prevent - pregnancy.
